It worked earlier today but after a reboot on my Mac Mini with 10.5.6 I have the exact same problem. Still digging. There is absolutely some sort of issue with Windows Update nerfing the keyboard/touchpad drivers, rendering the laptop unuseable. This finished the installation of a USB Composite, and adds the rest of drivers from the install CD. Consider completely uninstalling IntelliPoint software from Control Panel or plug in a different wired keyboard until you can get this sorted. but it works fine on BIOS screen and anything before the log-on screen...
